Reserve Portuguese Red by Dorina Lindemann
The Story
Dorina Lindemann's wines are shaped by an unusual balance. The estate was founded by her German father after he was shipwrecked off the Portuguese coast and fell in love with the region. Dorina, who trained at the prestigious Geisenheim, joined in the 1990's.
The estate brings Northern European rigour to the generous flavours of the Alentejo. Precision, patience, and restraint sit alongside sun and warmth.
Today, Dorina runs Plansel with her daughters, forming a quietly confident women-led winery. Their wines reflect that dual heritage: disciplined yet expressive, structured yet generous — proof that when careful hands meet a bold landscape, something distinctive emerges.
The Wine
- Producer: Dorina Lindemann
- Region: Alentejo, Portugal
- Vintage: 2021
- Grape Varieties: Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca
- ABV: 14.5%
- Vol: 750ml
- Tasting note: All the characteristics of Lindemann’s entry level red (black fruits, orange blossom) with the added complexity and softness of a year in French oak barriques. This red is ready to drink now, though it could age for another five years. Refined and great value, works well with food or without.
Food Pairing
Pair with roast lamb, beef, rich pasta, or aged cheeses — a refined, oak-aged Alentejo red that’s as comfortable at the table as it is in the glass.
