For decades, Croatian winemakers didn't need to work particularly hard. A steady flow of tourists guzzled cheap and cheerful wine on their summer holidays.

In recent years a new type of Croatian wine has emerged. It's a more confident Croatian wine which celebrates native varieties rather than imitating international styles. We aim to share those wines with you here, to get a true sense of this fascinating country beyond the tourist trail.
